Rock Study_1 - 5" x 7"

5" x 7"

Acrylic on canvas board

A small relic of river time; held. turned, and translated in paint.

This piece explores the quiet complexity of something easily overlooked. A stone shaped by current, pressure, and patience. Layers of warm earth tones and cool mineral whites trace the unseen history within.

While small in scale, the painting invites close viewing. Built through careful layering and directional brushwork, the surface reflects the slow geological. processes that shape the subject itself.

Part of an ongoing exploration of river stones and natural forms, Rock Study _1 reflects an interest in the overlooked details of landscape, and it's objects shaped quietly over time and rarely given sustained attention.
